Thanks again Carlos. I sat down and mapped out the years and my age.
I had three years of junior hi and three years of high school. I
entered high school as a sophomore, at age 14, in September of 1952.
My birthday is in January, so I became a junior in 1953. It is
possible that I got my camera, as a junior, in late 1953/early 1954.
That was a very l-o-n-g time ago. So, I guess it is possible that I
got an early Rolleicord IV. But I don't remember a double exposure
switch ? And I did have a Rolleikin.
And I too remember, to this day, the smell of opening the box. The
leather smell was simply out of this world!
I have looked through the Rollei IV online manual but I cannot find a
Rollei III online manual to see which camera I recognize - or at
least which one is most recognizable.
I too took Ektchrome with my Rolleicord and processed it in my mom's
kitchen sink. E2. Nikor tank and reels. I also had (and I still have
it) a TDC 6x6 projector and I used to put on slide shows for friends
and groups. Sure blew away the 35mm slide shows that everyone else was doing!

Richard K. wrote a good point, the camera price. I have an original 1954 list price from Burleigh Brooks Inc.,10 West 46th Street New York 36, N.Y, that I bought from Craig cameras because it contains the 2.8C prices, if your camera costed 149.50$, this is the exact price for the 1954 Rolleicord IV with Xenar lens and ever ready case, and then it's almost sure your camera was a Rolleicord III with Xenar lens and ever ready case, a Rolleicord III with Triotar lens was cheaper clearly. In other words, if your 1952 Rolleicord III camera had identical price regarding the newer Rolleicord IV with Xenar lenses, your Rolleicord III had Xenar lenses too.-
