Fred FIRST of all, we said 50mm (FIFTY MILLIMETER) lens. But if I allowed you that 45mm lens, you could surely allow me the 50mm f3.5 Elmar, couldn't you. That lens is small. But then you lose! Let it be known that I hate the 50mm FL for the 24x36 format. With all the 35mm cameras that I have, I have ONE 50mm lens. And that is because it was almost free. A f1.4 Summilux that produces pictures better than all the 50mm Summicrons or 50mm Nikkors or 50mm Elmars that I have ever had and got rid of. For my SLRs, I do have zoom lenses that cover 50mm, but I hardly ever find that the 50mm setting, frames the shot to my liking.
