Thanks Richard and Carlos on the problem solving of the advance/counter. I hope spend some time with the camera this evening and look at the "lever next to the feed side spool" as noted below. When I last looked, the reset mechanism was reverting to frame 10, rather than forwarding to 0. The focus gear has felt a little 'crunchy' on occasion as well, so I believe it's due for service regardless of my findings. Most likely there is gummy lubricant in the counter mechanism which is causing it to stick. While excercizing the counter may unstick it sometimes the real cure is to have the camera serviced. You can check the counter without film by using a dummy roll made by winding some masking tape on one side of an empty spool. Place this in the take up compartment with the tape under the metering wheel (the thing with gear teeth). Put a folded business card between the threading feeler rollers and close the camera. It will operate just as though it had film in it. The counter is actuated and reset by a small lever next to the feed side spool on the crank side. This is operated by the back. Try working this lever a few times when the camera sticks. If it resets eventually the problem is likely just dirt or old lube. Very likely this is an indication that lube elswhere in the camera has gotten old and its time for an overhaul. --- Richard Knoppow Los Angeles, CA, USA dickburk@xxxxxxxxxxxxx --- Rollei List - Post to rollei_list@xxxxxxxxxxxxx - Subscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'subscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Unsubscribe at rollei_list-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with 'unsubscribe' in the subject field OR by logging into www.freelists.org - Online, searchable archives are available at //www.freelists.org/archives/rollei_list
