Just to clarify (and thank you for your post Rich), I said that stronger
suggests more and bigger. For me, I would always prefer the quality of a
launch (includes safety btw) over the quantity at a launch.
So, I didn’t bring up stronger club btw, I was just considering what some of
the noms said in their statements. And, I’ve heard this from time to time and
wondering what many people think that is. I would like to know why
strong/stronger is a goal, and then what needs to be done.

I think I am going to have to give a “I disagree” to this post… At least parts
of it…
Why does “stronger” mean “more and bigger launches”?
I think if a basic problem right now is “lack of participation” then both
“more” and/or “bigger” is just going to make it worse…
And I think, in this context, Richard, isn’t the term “Participation” fairly
targeted at “Actively Helping Out”?
So I will toss a question of my own out there…
Why aren’t people “participating”?
And
How do we find out why they aren’t participating?

Several of the self-noms mentioned that they would like to help ROC a stronger
club. Sorry, I can’t quote because I misplaced the statements after I voted.
Thanks to all the people that stepped forward btw.
To me, a stronger club doesn’t just mean more members. A bigger club, yes.
But stronger, not necessarily, and more members that are not actively
participating could actually make it weaker.
So, why have a strong club?
For us, we hold rocket launches. So stronger suggests more and bigger
launches. However, for a volunteer organization the most important thing about
being stronger is that everyone has the opportunity to have a good time doing
it. There’s enough people helping for the chosen activities that the club is
resilient and enjoyable to all.
A weak club takes a toll on the people trying to keep it going.
