For low and mid power, there's also the SoCal Rocket Association which
flies at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation area about twice monthly. They
allow up to a single G and up to 500g.

Comment: Hey, I've never launched a rocket as an adult (I launched as
a kid with friends parents) and I'm looking for a place to launch a
small model rocket (the SpaceX replica Falcon 9) that I built with my
4th grade nephew. I see that the laws are much more strict than what I
was use to back east. Do you have any ideas of where I may be able to
get permission to launch a small rocket in or near the South Bay?
I would love to bring him to one of the events soon!
