During the last Board meeting we discussed the possible benefits of the
club owning or having use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED). For
those of you not familiar with the device, it can be used to rescue a
person in the event of cardiac arrest. The device analyzes the person’s
heart rhythm and if necessary delivers an electric shock to help the heart
reestablish an effective rhythm. It is common for those taking CPR training
to practice AED use. It’s very simple. I attached a link to the American
Red Cross’ information regarding AED’s below.
The purpose of this note is to get input from club members regarding ROC
owning or having access to an AED at our launches. Let us know what you
