Hello all,

This may be olds to some of you, but it's news to me.

There is an open source project that has created a firmware replacement
for some MP3 players that makes them accessible to the visually
impaired. The firmware is called RockBox. It supposedly can work on
several different types of MP3 players, including some IPods. One thing
it does is generate voice output for the menus and other features of the
player. To read more about the project, go to:

http://www.rockbox.org

Has anybody on this list tried this? If so, what were your results?

Thanks.
