My comment means was the dog fed prior to flying, was the dog relieved jut prior to boarding the plane? My belief is the Handler has responsibilities as it relates to appropriate behaviors of their Guides and sometimes the Handler can be responsible for issues related to his or her Guide Dog for example excessive barking which is in appropriate. Dogs being allowed to jump into the seats when being transported, or dogs standing in the isles of fix route buses, etc. That's what I ment! But it has gone viral, or so near to that it doesn't matter. Other reports make this out to be a much bigger calamity than the Star's report made it. The fact you have people posting to social media--including pictures--adds "viral" to the mix and makes the story more newsworthy. We are now in an age where the average schmuck is the reporter, and we all are victims of their weird senses of humor, poor taste and lack of discernment. There is no one "higher up" making the decision of what is and is not newsworthy. that is as good a definition of "social media" as there is. Might we be facing the time--in the not too distant future--where the professional news media is relegated to the back burner? Canine comfort stations probably wouldn't have helped in this case, but it is still a good idea. Back to my lab. I've another idea, a canine flight simulator stress test chamber.
