I thought this forward was pretty cool. The good stuff is a little way down the thread, so keep reading. Hugs, Andrea M. I'm not familiar with the rest of this thread regarding Straight Talk, so I apologize if I repeat any information. Now, onward... Recently, about two weeks ago, I took the plunge and purchased a new iPhone 4s 64GB locked to AT&T. I bought the phone outright off of eBay for $650. Despite my reservations about the decision, it had arrived in great and unused condition; original manufacturer's warranty still valid along with an option to purchase an extended warranty. I'll go for SquareTrade's iPhone warranty as it covers up to four claims compared to Apple's two at the same price point. Note that your miles may vary on Ebay; even with buyer protection, always observe caution and be smart when it comes to ordering online. It's less hassle that way. :) Smiles! Before I purchased the iPhone, I had researched for cell plans, and I stumbled upon a company called Straight Talk and discovered their "Bring Your Own Phone" option. For about $15, I can purchase a SIM or micro SIM card that works either on unlock phones, or on AT&T or TMoble compatible phones. I chose the proper micro SIM card for an AT&T compatible phone. There was no need to unlock my phone or use a SIM card interposer in order to use my iPhone with another service. And, since Straight Talk buys minutes and data at wholesale from other carriers, AT&T being one of them, the phone service is expected to be just as good due to the same cell towers that are used. The monthly $45 unlimited voice, text, and data plan sounds pretty good even with the fine print. Most importantly, during activation of the Straight Talk micro SIM card, there is an option to port my original phone number over. Having been with AT&T for a long time, I didn't want to be on another contract or continue to use their overpriced plans. So, I decided to go with the Straight Talk option. So, there is my first post to this group. I hope my experience with getting a prepaid plan with Straight Talk on my iPhone 4s locked to AT&T was helpful.
