Another great voice recorder for the iPhone or Ipod is called Voxie, this one
is particularly fun to use because you can start and stop recordings just by
shaking the phone.
Right now, the Olympus DM420 digital recorder is available from Amazon for
$111.
This is a fine recorder, 90% of the menus speak, and the audio quality is
excellent.
This one however, does not play Daisy content, but does record in MP3, WAV, or
Windows Media audio format.

The Olympus DM4 and 5 are the best. No sighted help is necessary. The
menus and all functions can speak. One of them will even play NLS talking
books eventually. I need to look up the information again. However, there
are great voice recording apps for the IPhone, IPad, and IPod. One that
comes to mind is list recorder.

I'm looking to upgrade from my Olympus Ds 30 digital recorder to a
digital recorder that will record in Mp3 format. What accessible digital
recorders have worked best for you, and do the recorders you recommend
come talking right out of the box, or do they need to be set up by a
sighted person in order to have voiced menus?
