She appears to have her own abbreviations and pronunciation rules built into the synthesizer. I don't know of any way to over ride those. I'll ask others for ideas. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Nancy Van Sandt" <nanvan53@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <real-eyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Sunday, August 02, 2009 11:48 PM Subject: [real-eyes] A couple of Jaws questions. Hi! I am having some trouble changing things in my Jaws dictionary now that I am using Samantha RealSpeak solo direct that works with Jaws 10. I use the Jaws dictionary all of the time, and can't figure out what I'm doing wrong here. In my feedback notes, I have a phrase that says to search for something called the C number. Only Samantha reads this as a Roman numeral, pronouncing it as one hundred number. If I move across the line by using control right arrow, she pronounces it correctly. However, if I use my Say All or if I just down arrow through the document, she pronounces it as one hundred number. I use the default option for everything. She seems to pronounce things differently depending on the key strokes I use. Does anyone have any ideas about making her read more consistently?
