Hi Chuck,
It's supposed to work on Unity and Gnome. I've tested it with
Gnome 3 in Manjaro Linux and it worked well. My guess is that it
should work on any Ubuntu or Arch-based distro running Gnome. I've
confirmed that it does NOT work in Cinnamon, that's Linux Mint's
default desktop environment that's a fork from Gnome. I would
recommend Gnome 3 if you're not sure which desktop environment to
choose.
Best,
Patrick

Do you guys know of any resources on maybe seeing which version
of Linux support orca?
I”m considering installing Ubuntu on the Pi, but not too sure if
Ubuntu is supported.

Hi,
<snip I really like Suse BLinux, but as far as I know, Suse and
Knoppix are the only distros with a native package for it, and
while I've successfully installed the knoppix version on
Debian(Knoppix uses the Debian repositories after all), it's
only available in i386 and I have no idea how to switch Debian
from using speakup at the console to using SBL once the latter
is installed.
PL] Ubuntu also has orca built-in so does kali linux.
