Hi Chuck,
As far as I know, orca is the only screen reader that works in the Linux
graphical environment. Then there is speakup which works on the console and a
new promising one called fenrir that runs in user space on the console.

Hello Everyone,
I had a question. I’ve not had a chance to use Linux, though doing research.
I’ve Noticed there are a number of Linux Screen rEAders. What I wondered is
which is easy to get started with, and good for someone who has no usable site.
I know that there is Orca, then there are a number of others like FireVox
Telltender, Suse-Blinux, Project Metal mouth, and there are probably others,
but I”m not too sure. lIke Emacs speak.
I’m sure that FireVox is a web Based screen reader.
I was wanting to hear form you guys, I’ve still been searching around on what
Linux Distros are supported on the Pi, but also have some form of a screen
reading capability.
