This is a trike that I have interest in also. I've ridden a short wheel base recumbent through winter, but a trike would have been welcome. Two wheels during the Ice Bike races is tough.--- On Thu, 6/17/10, Irv Jamison <irvjamison@xxxxxxxxx> wrote: From: Irv Jamison <irvjamison@xxxxxxxxx> Subject: [python] Trike To: python@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Date: Thursday, June 17, 2010, 11:06 PMI found a photo of a trike that I believe was designed and built by Jürgen and was wondering if there are plans/drawing that I could acquire. How does it ride compared to the Python? Any tips/concerns about building a trike like this? Thank You!Irv Jamison
I didn't answer these messages till now because I thought Jurgen would say something about it. Since he hasn't yet, can I point out that he replied to a query of mine some time back, about this trike (I seem to remember) that the rear wheels being set so far forward causes a less-than-good weight distribution between the front and rear axles. The balance to aim for is around 60% of total weight carried on the front wheel, to promote good self-centering and good traction on loose or slippery surfaces -- especially up-slopes. Cheers, RhG
