I have "active" handlebars on the front
In the beginning: Remember that first i'm driving with walking
Hands(+Gloves)
Later i used my handelbars as additional control and i permanently use
my brakes (to keep the bike slow and have a "counterforce" to
feet-force ) then i discovered that light uphill streets had the same
effect !
Not more than 30 minutes /day.
Later the handlebars make it possible to reach higher speeds but this
after 400 km learning!!!
