I live in a fairly hilly area. So I was looking for a hub with a relatively flat gear range around 400% or more. I also found the oil filled feature was nice for efficiency and maintenance.
That basically leaves me with two hubs that I know of. The Shimano Alphine or a far more expensive Rohloff. Neither of which have coaster brakes.
