I've got 2 of these, one is glued a neater than the other, and they work fine, with no light leaks. If I were you, I'd not worry about it. If the lack of neatness bothers you, you could probably take a razor blade or X-acto knife and trim off some of the glue to smooth things up.

Just ordered another Paterson MultiReel 5 tank to continue sloshing my way thru a 1-1/2 yr backlog of film dev at a slightly faster pace.Noticed upon inspection that the center column is actually two pieces cemented together, as though they take a column from a shorter tank and glue an extension onto the top end. I noticed this only because the glue job is a bit sloppy, but looking more closely at my older one, I notice a tiny hairline seam in the same spot. So apparently this is the way they are made, I just never realized it.I am thinking of exchanging for one with a more perfect-seeming center column, but am wondering whether it would be worth the trouble?Any thoughts/opinions/observations appreciated, as always!
