My experience is that metal caps corrode even when they have plastic liners. Bakelite is better.
Chemistry in trays or tanks can have its life extended by covering with plastic wrap. Bottles are better but sometimes one wants to keep things ready.

You can actually buy brown glass bottles cheap in 500ml, 1000ml sizes
cheap. From an outfit on the Internet whose name I forget, but Google
will probably find them for you. They come with Bakelite screw-caps.

Yes, but the growlers are 1/2 gal which I like for keeping things like
pre-mixed film developer - I use 1/2 gal Kodak rubber tanks for processing.

Also, the growlers I get have the plastic insert in the bakelite cap.  This
gives you a positive seal that the traditional metal screwcaps do not.

Finally, I have more fun acquiring my bottles than you do so THERE ...
