I am encouraged by your results Ryuji ! Out of curiosity, could you please let me know the batch number of the paper you used? Also which dev. did you use (if your own, then what type of dev is it?) I have acquired at least 3 different batches of this paper during my quest to get to the bottom of my problems with OC. After the previous recent discussions, and further experimenting in my darkroom with OC, I developed it for 3 minutes and chose another few sheets at different positions in the stack of 100 8x10" (thus trying Dave Valvo's suggestion " Could also be an interaction between the back of the support and the emulsion. As the paper sits in a stack, the back is against the face. If you have an unopened box you can test that with just the top sheet."). But to no avail !!! It was still mottling :( I was discouraged enough to withhold feedback to this list. In fact I started using Google's new Japanese to English translation utility to comb .jp sites for any more ideas! So, in light of Ryuji's success, I am even more determined to get rid of this mottling. I am going to try: i) another batch of OC paper ii) XTOL film dev. (stock soln.) rather than Neutol Plus (I know, I need to develop for longer) iii) no stop bath, just a water rinse iv) fresh fixer all in no particular order, and most probably all at once. You can see I don't give up easily. (hint: never ask me to solve something when it's my turn to cook dinner :) I'll keep you posted regards Peter Badcock On 4/23/05, Ryuji Suzuki <rs@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > > Someone gave me sample boxes of Oriental VC papers in both resin > coated and baryta bases.
