Subject: [pure-silver] Kodachrome
A simple search of the archives didn't turn up anything,
although I seem to remember this being discussed in the
past:
Can Kodachrome be developed to produce a usable monochrome
image by means of any more-or-less ordinary b&w
chemistry?
I have a few rolls of exposed 120 in the freezer (and a
few unexposed ones as well).
Myron
Yes, although I don't have details like developing time.
Kodachrome consists of three black and white film layers and
a yellow filter layer made of colloidal silver. Processing
in a standard developer like D-76 should give you a
negative. However, I don't know of any way of bleaching out
the yellow filter layer without also bleaching out the
image.
