Hello,

I made it twice with some success. The main difficulties are an even coating
and not to get fog.

There is an excellent book about this subject: Silver Gelatine.

If you coat yourself, I am interesting in your experience.

Best regards,

Just out of curiosity, has anyone ever tried to make their own emulsions
? How difficult is it ?

   Thanks

Special Emulsion Making and Coating Workshop Announcement

Ron Mowrey will be teaching one workshop this summer in Emulsion Making
and Coating, and that workshop will be at the Photographers' Formulary.

Ron was originally scheduled to teach another session of the workshop in
New York, but was just informed that because of a lack of space it was
necessary to cancel his class.

So, if you are interested in making your own emulsions, and coating your
own paper, contact Sherry at the Photographers' Formulary, because it's
the only game in town!

Ron's Emulsion Making and Coating workshop runs from June 3-June 8. Call
Sherry now at to reserve your place in the class, and come to Montana!
