You could suppress such variables using the Sekonic to set the nikon and take a pict or two.
But you'd be better sending the Sekonic to me ;-) Or the F5 if you suspect it !
I bet on the angle of the grey card and the angle of the bulb on the Sekonic relative to lighting.
