On the wall in Irving Penn's studio is a BW comp print from a photo session
in the Vogue studios, circa 1940. The photographer was Richard Avedon.
Penciled across the image is the question, posed to Irving Penn, "Dear
Irving, do you think we will ever be successful? It was signed by "Dick"
Avedon. It is the only picture hanging in the studio.
