Wow. This morning I just happened across the Adox on Freestyle, while checking
Ilford glossy prices there. Wondered about the quality. Thanks for the report!
I'll have to check out this paper. Mike Healy

Subject: [pure-silver] Another Lovely Paper Discovered

Of late I've been experimenting with some the the Only-At-Freestyle papers
to see how they stack up to the great papers of the past. (Or at least how
I've remembered them with romantic exaggeration!)

Among these include Adox MCC 110, Adox Vario Classic, Varycon KG, and Arista
Ultra VC FB. Each of them has been very good to excellent, but the one that
really stands out as superb has been the Arista Ultra VC VB. It has a
black/silver that reminds me a lot of the old original Zone VI graded stuff
- my fav paper of all time. If they'd make this paper with same heavy base
and tooth of the ZVI, I'd be in heaven.

The Arista Ultra develops beautifully in 2 minutes of Dektol 1:2 and tones
like crazy in KRST. I had to "turn down the volume" of the toner to 1:35 to
keep the prints from overtoning.

This paper is remarkable insofar as it is a "value" paper and considerably
cheaper than many of the other offerings in the marketplace today. Here's
hoping Freestyle keeps this current paper in place with no change to its
formulation.

P.S. The Adox MCC 110 is also worth your time and attention. I has
that Agfa "look" ... or at least what I recall the look to have
     been.
