DEAR LAURENCE AND ALL WHO REPLIED,

Thanks so much for your help! I will try this idea of dragging
an image into Google to see what I can find.

DEAR RICHARD,

Bob, It's not for the want of trying.

I spend about 45 minutes trundling through web images to see if I could
find something matching your description.

If you could take a couple of images of the pack, preferably by itself on
a white background, and then drag a copy of the image to the search line in
the google browser, you might be able to locate more info that I did.
Google's image search will then search for images similar to the image you
have put in. If your unsure of this, you could either post them somewhere on
the web, where I could download them, or send them directly to me by email
and I can search further.

In a straight text search of the image tab, I tried a number of different
keywords, and then searching by dominant color, but that also failed, and
given that the collective wisdom of the list did not immediately jump in and
identify it, I wonder might this be some specialist scientific product,
rather than a mainstream mass market film.

My 2c.

DEAR PURE SILVER,

In response to my post to the list below, the silence was
deafening! So how about you younger members?can anyone help me find an
approximate age of this film?

DEAR SUPERANNUATED LIST MEMBERS (I resemble this remark!)

I discovered a metal film can (yellow top, buff silver can)
holding a roll of exposed Plus-X. The surprise is that the film cassette is
a warm brown color with classical Kodak yellow printing on it and the top
and bottom caps are buff silver. I think it must be rather old because I
cannot remember anything except yellow, black, green, and blue Kodak film
cassettes. I seem to recall that, when I started photography at age 11
using my Dad?s old Federal enlarger and Bakelite film tank, he had some old
cassettes that were this same color.

Sooooooooooooooo, my question is, does anyone have any idea, or
even better, documentation/evidence of how old this film might be?

                                    CHEERS!

                                                BOB
