I will be on a cruise to Alaska in August. Will my PTR1 be able to be charged from the ship's electrical system?

There are many such devices available that have rechargable batteries in
them and then universal voltage selection and connector features to let
you drive most standard equipment. However, the obvious solution is to
just avoid using compact disks and the micro drive. When I want to go
portable I stick to my flash drive. In this manner I consistantly get
between 9-12 hours of play time on a single charge. You just have to
remember to rip the CDs to flash before you go on the road.

I have been using a 12 DC volt to 110 AC adapter from Radio shack for about a year with out any trouble. Louie oudie@xxxxxxxxxxxx

Yes, the battery pack for off-the-shelf batteries would be helpful.
We
inquired when we bought our PTR1 quite some time ago about having a
12-volt adapter so the PlexTalk could be plugged into a cigarette
lighter
outlet in a car. At least you wouldn't have to run out of battery
when
listening on road trips or have to plug it in all night to get a very
few
more hours. We were told at the time that there was no such animal...
OK,
so I'm paraphrasing... and that using an adapter, such as from Radio
Shack, even if it was rated and polarized properly, would not be a
good
idea. I don't know why this should be such a touchy issue. Either
the
battery pack or the 12-volt adapter or both would be very useful
accessories to have.

This
would be a good idea for a back up to the battery pack.
thank you
