When you reminded me of choosing the CD writing program, I forgot that I had tried that, short term memory loss.
I am using Roxio Easy CD Creator 6. I use the Creator Classic option.I select the proper drive, etc, but the settings won't hold. It keeps defaulting to my D drive.
I need to keep experimenting with this.I know I need another drive, but this problem puzzles me, or maybe I should try another writing program.

Hi. The incorrect function message when accessing a blank CD in WindowsXP is normal, or at least expected, under some circumstances. You should be ready to use your favourite burning package to burn to the blank CD in yourPTR1 when it's connected to your computer. Simply launch your CD writingsoftware of choice and select the PTR1 as your CD recorder, and you can thenburn files to CD. I do know someone with a laptop, somy first problem will be easily resolved. I have plugged my PTR1 to my desktop PC. I can play or copy from the inserted CD. If I put a blank CD in and try to access the drive, I get the following error message. "G:\ is not accessible. Incorrect function." I don't know what to do about that. I do have a card reader and have successfully played MP3 files on my PTR1.Unfortunately, I can't burn these files to CD, with the PTR1. I am assumingbecause the folders/files are not in daisy format. Once again, thank you.----- Original Message ----- From: "stever2525" <stever2525@xxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Monday, September 03, 2007 6:47 PM Subject: 2 questions about transferring media between PTR1 and PCHi, this is Steve with a couple of problems/questions. First question: I have a Toshiba 5GB Type II PCMCIA Hard Disk which I have used with the PTR1. One of the files is larger than the capacity of a CD. I don't know of a way to transfer directly from the PTR1 with this drive, to my PC. Is there an easier solution than having to make an analogue recording, then transferring so I won't lose any of the fidelity? Now for my second question. My CDRW drive on my computer needs replacing. In the meantime, is there a way to transfer a folder of MP3 files from my PC to the PTR1? This folder is not in daisy format. I am using XP Home and JAWS5.1.
