Hi, Yes that was it. The only thing resembling a factory reset I can see is in the Control Panel and it's called delete all settings or something like that. Is that what you are refering to? thanks a lot. terry. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Hodgson" <andrew@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, July 13, 2005 4:26 PM Subject: RE: Problem with PTR1 Hi, Try doing the upgrade via the USB and then also do a factory reset on the unit and remove all bookmarks. Thanks. Andrew. -----Original Message----- From: ptr1-users-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx on behalf of Terry Clasper Sent: Wed 13/07/2005 11:59 To: ptr1-users@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Problem with PTR1 All. I hope someone may be able to help with this. I crucially need my PTR1 for nex tweek and currently am in urgent need of some ideas. A couple of weeks ago my unit stopped wanting to play CD's, no matter whether MP3 or standard CD Audio. Every CD placed into the drive gave the message "bad or improppor CD". In an attempt to resolve the problem I upgraded to the latest version of the operating system using the USB method and the upgrade worked fine. Now I have the same error as before with Cd's however to make things worse when I insert my Toshiba 5GB PCMCIA card the machine just plays the progress sound and goes no further. So I guess my question is... Is the PTR1 bust from a hardware perspective or can anyone think of anything to try to get it back up and running at leest with the card. Answers gratefully received. Very best regards.
