Hi Steve:

I think there may be some "major league" confusion here about adaptors. You
mentioned a sandisk "6 in 1" card adaptor. First off, are we talking about a
PTR1 or a PTR2? I presume a PTR1, since no adaptor is needed for the PTR2,
if using a CF card.

Okay, the PTR1 has a slot on the right-hand side, which is designed to
accommodate a PCMCIA micro-drive. Now, sandisk produced an adaptor which
allowed a CF (CompactFlash) card) to be recognized as a micro-drive; hence,
making the CF card compatible with the PTR1. Note that the compatibility
issue here has to do with physical access in the first instance; leave alone
considerations of technological accessibility, (i.e., card architecture /
format, etc.).

Coming back to your "6 in 1" adaptor, are we talking about a card reader,
which interfaces via means of a USB plug? The only adaptor which is "in
play" vis a vis the PTR1 is an adaptor which will allow a given flash disk
to emulate a micro-drive. My understanding about the PTR2 (understand I
don't yet own one), is that there is no adaptor necessary for accessing CF
cards as there is a slot / port available on the machine to accommodate such
cards, or adaptors which accommodate such cards.

So, if you're talking about the PTR2, and a "6 in 1" adaptor which permits
the PTR2 to "physically" access the SD card, well, then I can't help you.

John
