A new charger for the book port plus or plextalk pocket is $18.00.

The Plextalk needs a well regulated supply of 5 Volts at 1,000mA. (One
Amp)  You can get good switching adapters of these specs from Radio
Shack and take your Plextalk in with you and they'll fit an adapter plug
for it with the correct polarity and you'll be good to go.  BTW, the
Bookport is exactly the same as the Plextalk as far as the hardware is
concerned and they use the same charger if that is of any help.  Good luck!

I am attempting to locate a new one, as there may be times that a computer may not be available, and I am so addicted to my Plextalk, that it isn't even funny. I never leave home without it.
