I am preparing to move the server to new hardware. I intend to use an
Axiomtek ebox, an industrial embedded and diskless pc. This one:

I'm using an 8 GB compact flash card instead of a harddisk and xubuntu,
pskmail and fldigi is running fine. But...
The PC has no built in soundcard and no pci so I'm using a USB
soundcard, have two different makes that I am testing. When listening to
music I find the sound quality is great. When using fldigi I have some
clicks, almost like static, and crashes on top of the psk. I have tested
two different cards but they both behave the same way.
When I listen to the pskmail traffic on 30 meters I can hear that a few
others are using usb cards as well... But, they sound a little bit
better than mine does. Any hints as to what can be done to improve the
sound?
