I've just posted an updated FileDir (March 24 version, usual URL,
F11 to
Elevate) at http://EmpowermentZone.com/dirsetup.exe
With my testing under XP, the Context Menu command can now be
invoked
with the Applications key as well as Shift+F10.

Thanks for looking into it. I have never liked things on that side of that row; shift-f10, insert-f11 or f12, all that. I do not have the compiler for FileDir and would not know what I was doing enough to modify the code even if I had it, but thanks all the same. Good luck investigating!
Have a great day, Alex

This is the first I've heard that Shift+F10 is awkward to press, but Iwant to be responsive. I picked that key since it is thestandardkeyboard alternative to a right mouse click. I will investigatewhetherI can program the Applications key to be synonymous.Unfortunately, nearly every other key combination is already taken. In themeantime, you could write a simple JAWS or Window-Eyes script that sendsShift+F10when the key combination you prefer is pressed. You could alsorecompileFileDir if you like. EdSharp's keys are configurable, butFileDir's arenot at this point, and it would be a substantial reworking ofcode tochange that.

That's a shame. Could it at least be something more convenient, like ctrl-m or something like that? That exact hotkey may be taken, but you know what I mean; something that is not on the right side of the f-keys, in my opinion about the most inconvenient location on the entire keyboard.

I just tested and found that it does not respond to theApplications keyas well. I think that would involve lower level keyboardhandling, though am not sure.

Will this come up with the applications key as well asShift+F10, ordoes that require deeper drilling of the keyboard?

If youfindsomething missing, let me know.

In FileDir, is there a way to access the standard Windowscontextmenu for files and folders? I liked FileDir when I tried it, but the absence of this menu was a big turn-off.
