If you read the rules for providing feedback I asked that it be sent to me
privately and I am glad to forward responses to me to any individual showing
proof of such information.

Subject: needing more responses folks

Hello Everyone,

So far I have received more positive feedback about the potential merger of
the lists (both on list as well as private emails).

I would strongly encourage you all to please email me privately with your
comments.

I am looking more toward a 10/1/2011 cut over date and would like to give
everyone a 30-day notice if this is so. For this reason I am hoping to get
feedback by August 31, 2011 if at all possible.

Send private concerns, suggestions, yes/no votes, etc., to
jeff@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I will give people a summarized update at noon on Tuesday and at noon on
Wednesday. If comments keep coming in after Wednesday then I will be open to
extending the time.

I appreciate your help everyone.

To make it clear to everyone, the reasons for merging the list are these:

1. To consolidate blind programmers to help facilitate conversation
in all areas. Many technology changes are coming and it is important we all
speak with one voice as much as possible to fight for access in programming
IDE's, accessible technologies, etc.

2. Concerns about rules on program-l are unwarranted. As long as
people act in a professional manner (no flaming, etc.) than any topic is
fine as long as it relates to programming.

3. The volume of users on ProgrammingBlind or traffic should not be an
issue after reviewing logs and also consulting with George Bell.

4. I see this as a win win for everyone.

If you object to this then I really want to hear from you with clear and
concise reasons.

Again, send comments to me privately. Let's leave list traffic at a minimum.
I will summarize everyone's comments to the list each day.

Thank you,

Jeff Bishop
