I got it to work just fine on my Windows XP machine at work but however it doesn't work here at home where I'm running Windows 7 64-bit. The Sounds4Stuff scheme is imported and it's the active scheme and I can hear it when navigating the Open dialog for instance.

But no piano notes when I look at some code.

When in the Settings Center (I'm running JAWS 12) I can't find the Advanced menu you're talking about to activate say all.

Thanks!
It works great!

Please sen the modified scheme.
Using 1 space instead of 2 may be nice when using Braille.
I always have my index finger on the Braille display when reviewing code...

I believe it is packaged with EdSharp. Open edSharp, then go to the
settings packager. Hit ctrl-o, and sounds4stuff.zip should be in the
list of files. Press enter on it. Next, press alt-i to import it. Once
that is done, close the packager and open up the settings center.
Select the sound schemes from the advanced menu and choose
sounds4stuff. Note that it works on multiples of two spaces; I made a
modification that works with multiples of one space, and uses a sound
for zero indentation instead of speaking a message, which I can send
if you want. Sorry these instructions are a bit vague. Oh, make sure,
in the advanced menu, that say all is on; that is what was giving me
trouble earlier today.

Hi:

This indentation scheme sounds very cool.
I want to try it out.

Where can I download the scheme and setup instructions?

I did this, and the same thing happens: I get sounds for edit, button,
list, and the rest, just nothing for indentation. It also said I was
about to overwrite an existing file, so I told it to skip and, when
that did nothing, I told it to overwrite. Neither option produced
piano notes.
Yes, I am not great at it, but modifying a scheme seems easy enough
and I modified yours to work with single-space indents instead of
double space.

Hi Alex,
Try this first.

1. Use Insert+F2 and open Settings Packager.
2. With the File menu, open the sounds for stuff scheme.
3. Press the Import button.
4. Close Settings Packager.
5. Go into EdSharp and either temporarily with Alt+Insert+S, or
permanently,
with Configuration Manager, for example, switch to the scheme.
6. Attempt to use the scheme and see if the sounds play.

One last thing. It sounds like you understand how to modify a
scheme. Is
that correct?

I go to settings center and enter sound into the edit box. The last
option brought up is the sound scheme, set to sounds4stuff (indent 1),
which is Jim's scheme modified to work with one space instead of two.
As I said, most sounds from this scheme still play, it just refuses to
play the piano notes for indentation. Is there a way to install the
previous version of edSharp to see if the notes return?

Does the excerpt below from the History.txt file of EdSharp help?

Another approach to hearing indentation levels is a JAWS sound scheme
contributed by Jim Homme. You can install it by pressing
JAWSKey+F2 and
choosing Settings Packager. In that program, press Control+O and
enter
Sounds4Stuff.zip. Then press Alt+I to import the settings.

Thanks, at least alt-i is now working. I really miss those piano
notes, though, since it was almost like being able to see the indent
levels, and was even easier than using braces!

I do not recall the steps to activate a sound scheme, but I recall
putting instructions in the EdSharp history of changes file,

since it is a scheme that he uses and contributed to the EdSharp
distribution.

The \s token you mentioned stands for white space characters in a
regular expression, but it is not a token in a typical C string.
The
\s
token means a space, tab, vertical tab, carriage return, line
feed, or
form feed character in a regular expression. If you intend a space
character for indentation, you should be able to use a literal
space
character.

Hi all,
I just updated edSharp to the latest version. I rely heavily on
the
Sounds4stuff jaws scheme since I work in Python, but this latest
update seems to have broken the scheme. Sounds for edit fields,
menus,
buttons, and so on still work, but my indentation sounds are
gone. I
even set the edSharp indent character to \s instead of \t, but
nothing
changed. Does anyone have an idea of what I could try? I installed
the
optional scripts, which I did not do last time, but I doubt that
would
make a difference since the rest of the scheme works as it did
before.

On a related note, the indent level query, alt-i, does not work.
Despite my indent character being \s (I use spaces, not the tab
key),
all lines report an indent level of 0.
