BTW I also know that it has hampered my progress on creating an open source screen reader that uses UI Automation because along the way I am also having to learn C#. Oh well I shall struggle onward though anyway grin. ----- Original Message ----- From: "John Greer" <jpgreer17@xxxxxxxxxxx>

Yes Microsoft has stopped supporting what is called the last true Visual Basic by no longer supporting VB 6 but I have not heard of any plans to stop producing VB as part of the Visual Studio. I believe what is meant is that Visual Basic as it is now is more a subset of C# rather than pure VB code. I do know that in VS 2005 you seem to be spending more time making C# calls than putting actual VB. So in that sense yeah VB is no longer there. ----- Original Message ----- From: "inthaneelf" <inthaneelf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 11:54 PM Subject: Re: VB and Microsoft no longer together?not to my knowledge, but I guess you could go look at the orca express for visual basic and see if VB is included in the versions you can get. and that should tell you, I hope that's not true, or I am in programming trouble!inthane----- Original Message ----- From: "Gabriel Battaglia" <iz4apu@xxxxxxxxx>To: <programmingblind@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Wednesday, February 27, 2008 6:14 AM Subject: VB and Microsoft no longer together? Is it true that since this year, Microsoft will not longer support Visual Basic?Greetings, Gabriel, Bologna Italy. |---------< Gabriel Battaglia >-----| |- MSN: siddharta33@xxxxxxxxxxx |- Skype: gabriel_battaglia |-----------------------------------| |- Ricevitoria Telefonica |--- Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna |----- via Farini 15, I:40124, Bologna (BO) |------- Tel: (+39) 051 27 54 111 |--------- Sito Web: http://fondazionecarisbo.it |----------------------------------------------| __________View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind__________View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind__________View the list's information and change your settings at //www.freelists.org/list/programmingblind
