BTW I also know that it has hampered my progress on creating an open source
screen reader that uses UI Automation because along the way I am also having
to learn C#. Oh well I shall struggle onward though anyway grin.

Yes Microsoft has stopped supporting what is called the last true Visual
Basic by no longer supporting VB 6 but I have not heard of any plans to
stop producing VB as part of the Visual Studio. I believe what is meant
is that Visual Basic as it is now is more a subset of C# rather than pure
VB code. I do know that in VS 2005 you seem to be spending more time
making C# calls than putting actual VB. So in that sense yeah VB is no
longer there.

not to my knowledge, but I guess you could go look at the orca express
for visual basic and see if VB is included in the versions you can get.
and that should tell you, I hope that's not true, or I am in programming
