You betcha.
Any reason you're so attached to SuSE? It's a fine distro, but for
someone not really familiar with Linux I'd highly recommend at least
playing around with Vinux until you start to have your legs under you in
the environment. You won't have to worry about the installation and
compatibility concerns related to your assistive tech. Not that they
aren't pretty easy to handle, but you'll only get frustrated if you bite
off too much at first.
