Java: using third-party library?

Hi all,
I am using Android, which is in Java, so essentially I am using Java.
I have the ASmack library, an XMPP library made for Android, and I am
using ANT to compile my project. I get the message that "the package
does not exist", then 55 more errors, all of which are about classes
and objects I use from the ASmack library, which cannot be located.
How do you use a .jar file as a package in Java? Thanks.
