Ah the hell of java access bridge stuff. I've had to uninstall all my java virtual machines as well as the access bridge then install the latest one then reinstall the access bridge see if that solves your problem.

Hi Dennis,
This is getting over my head, so take this with a grain of salt. Do you
have more than one Java virtual machine or run time environment on your
computer? I am not sure, but sometimes, I think when you install Java
programs, they put a new run time or virtual machine on your computer. The
access bridge may not know about them because when you installed it, it
only looked for the ones you had at the time. I'll keep checking to see
what else I find out though.

Thanks.

Hi James,
Did, but no luck. I installed a second program that required Java, and it
no longer works either with speech.

Thanks,

Hi Dennis,
You may want to re-install the access bridge. I'm not sure if it can be
modified to check again for stuff or not.

When Java did an automatic update on my XP system, a program that
required
Java Access Bridge stopped reading with Jaws. Does anyone know if the
access bridge has an update? The Java Access Bridge site still has the
same one I have installed.

Thanks,
Dennis Brown
