DESCRIPTION:
A vulnerability has been reported in Microsoft Windows, which
can be
exploited by malicious people to compromise a user's system.
The vulnerability is caused due to an error in the Microsoft
DirectShow MP3 filter (l3codecx.ax) when parsing MPEG Layer-3
audio
streams and can be exploited to cause a heap-based buffer
overflow
via a specially crafted audio file.
Successful exploitation allows execution of arbitrary code.
SOLUTION:
Apply patches.
