Can anyone tell me please what happened to the .xpi files that FireFox was using for plugins/extensions/addons (whatever you want to call them)? I've always been able to search for *.xpi and find the folder for the installed plugins so I could make backups of them. Now, and I don't know when this happened, there's no such file names on my HD! The "plugins" folder only has a few .dll files. The "extensions" folder only has 4 FOLDERS, but inside of each of those folders IS a .rdf file (which is part of the .xpi compressed files). But again, that's only 4 folders for more than a dozen plugins! I need to make backups for my currently installed plugins before I try and update them, but I can't. Most I already have saved (original or older versions), but many times I've done plugin updates and I assumed the updated versions were of course being PUT ON my HD! Apparently not, at least not in any recognizable form! (I'm not about to update any of them and not have a backup because the updates probably have **removed** features or added new bugs, which is normally the case).
