Ed, Did this Vista computer come with the laptop, or did you install it.? I'm curious if you purchased a laptop with Vista preloaded and went back to XP, did you have any problems with drivers? Installed dual boot with Linspire and Windows XP on both systems. Also, I use Mozilla Firefox versus Microsoft Internet Explorer and also use Mozilla Thunderbird for my email on both systems. I no longer use Microsoft Office, which is definitely priced out of the market for me, although I have used MS Office from it's inception and loved it over the others. Now I use Open Office 2.3 which is is free-ware and works just great for my Spreadsheets, Text Documents, Presentations, Database and Drawings. And the Price is FREE. The systems are compatible with MS Programs. . .(SMILE) I confess, "I'm a non-conformer". . .LOL ED Gibbs Chuck M Harris wrote: > Hi all, > I mentioned the Dell CD because I've had no trouble with it when doing > repair installs on Dells (until IE7 reared its ugly non-repairing head). > I've typically had exactly the opposite result when using the same or > different product keys with retail and OEM versions of XP CDs that Clint > and Hugh have experienced.
