hi Eddie,

my laptop and desktop ip start with 72.

The one zone alarm found was the one you mentioned below with a medium
rating and type is firewall.

Ahh, that's probably good. You could get that message from the Zone Alarm
upgrade. If you are still slow, it could be because of the IP you set to
the not trusted zone. What are the first 2 numbers (of the 4)? I don't
want you to mention all 4 just in case it is your Internet IP. Your desktop
and laptop IP's probably start with 192.168, but does the one from the
warning start with 192.168 also? If not, is it the same as your internet IP
(which you can find by going to www.whatsmyip.org )?

Hi Eddie

It was on my desktop and was a zone alarm security message. I did recently
upgrade my zone alarm not long before this happened. It showed an IP and I
looked up my desktop IP and my laptop IP, both were the same and were not
the one zone alarm gave me. I set it to internet not trusted zone as I had
to choose one.,

WinPatrol is a good program, it will improve your security. If nothing
changed on your computer and you did not change or replace your modem or
router, then the only 2 things I can think of is that either you connected
to the wrong wireless router or you got a virus. Is this PC wireless? If
yes, then check what wireless router it is connected to. I can't help you
find out how to do that without knowing what version of Windows you have
there.

If that is not it, then run an anti-virus scan, scan with Malwarebytes, and
at least one or two free online scans using different brand than your
installed anti-virus. Actually it might be a good idea to do the scans even
if you don't think you have a virus.

Christy, I don't have an answer but I do have a suggestion. If you don't
already have WinPatrol, I highly recommend it. There is (or was) a free
version and a paid version. I bought it because I need all the information
I can get and don't always understand what the free version is telling me.
Win Patrol lets you know if something has been added and asks if you want
it. I click on "plus information" and it tells me about the add on and tell

me if it is safe or not. I just had it pop up a couple of days ago about
something AVG had added.
Sandi
P.S. you might copy the message you are getting and put it in Google. Just

might tell you what you need to know.
