you can also zip with win ZP's program. I never put winzip on here - I only use
the xp program. I've never had a problem zipping or unzipping files with it. I
have xp home.
My son has burned with the xp burning program. I've only used Nero - but he
said it works well.

The Winzip support that is built into XP is only for unzipping. Other
than that it's a joke. XP does have the ability to burn files to CD,
but Nero is definitely better.

Well I guess its show time! This new computer I've been mentioning is
being picked up tomorrow morning and I'm supposed to go set it up and
show them how to use it! Its got WinXP home installed on it, and as I
was planning out what I will need to show these people who are pretty
much techno-weenies..... I was thinking of CD-burning software. My
favorite is Nero and I was going to recommend that they use that one as
opposed to Roxio Easy CD Creator.... but then it occurred to me .....
didn't I hear somewhere along the way that WinXP has its own CD burning
software built-in? Or that you don't need a third-party CD-burning
program?

And what about Winzip? I seem to remember hearing that WinXP has that
kinda built-in too....

If someone could brief me on these first two questions ASAP then I can
go there and be able to appear to be fairly intelligent tomorrow
morning.

Anything else or any other surprises I'm likely to encounter? Their
internet isn't hooked up until next week so I will deal with the setting
up DSL issues after I'm over the initial hump

Thanks in advance,
Lacey
