I ran the complete set of Macafee loaded but now just run windows firewall
and AVG and everything is fine. I found Norton was causing problems too.

I have lots of problems with macafee - I'm afraid I'm a Norton man!
I also use Outlook rather than OE but I have yet to have a customer return
saying there was a problem with OE after I had installed SP2.
What are the basic spec's of your system - speed and memory and do you run
any firewall software?

I had that problem and found it was Macafee. When I uninstalled everything
was fine.

Looks like SP1a it is then ; )

What are the spec's of your system? I have installed SP2 many times on
customers PC's and have never had too much trouble correcting the resulting
problems.

SP1 is no longer available for download
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322389

If you insist on SP1 not SP1a you'll need to find someone who downloaded the
original and still has it on a cd or hdd somewhere.
