You are correct... NewEgg should pass on deals their vendors give out.
However, by offering deals that are obviously making a lot of customers
angry they will be forcing their customers to look elsewhere for a
deal. How long can Newegg afford to do that?

With ground shipping taking 7-10 days even 30 days (OCZ allows 21) is
not enough time to test the product and return it if necessary before
you have to give up the bar code for a rebate you are likely not gonna
get (fromOCZ) anyway. OCZ could give more time and still limit the
offer to say 500 or 1000 units. (Newegg could easily limit the number
of forms downloaded for each product with a rebate.) The short rebate
period is kept short in order to generate a lot of sales (expecting a
rebate) without having to pay the rebate. The number of complaints OCZ
has gotten in reviews far out weigh any good comments they get about
their product.

I for one, have decided NOT to buy an OCZ product until they clean up
their act.
