Thanks Don,

I had one about that size....actually a couple... at least 10 yrs ago....
but my problem was the memory was very small. It was very limited..
It does not sound like mine did all yours does and I will be checking it out
Sharp Wizards....
I do not have Outlook either and I just do not want to have to remember to
change phone numbers in 3 place...my computer, my cell phone and the
Organizer....lol! Maybe it would be easier to get Outlook... But I am
early in this search...and will look to see what I can find.

I do really appreciate your input.

It is not great if the Palm Pilot is smart...but needs frequent battery
charging..... Thanks for the tip on that. I will put on my list of
questions what the average battery life is between recharging. Thanks ever
so much.

I was looking for a device like this a few years ago to replace a
Casio unit (about $100) that quit working. I found (at OfficeMax)
a unit that does all those things and the price was only $25 or
$30. As I said, this was a few years ago, so I don't know if it
or a comparable model is available. It is a Sharp Wizard
Model OZ-290H. I call it a "poor man's PDA." I have a Palm
Pilot that is supposed to do most of these things and more
but the battery goes dead in a short time (without ever being
turned on) so I like the Sharp unit better.

I can be synched with a PC via the included USB cable and it
specifically mentions Outlook but since I don't use Outlook,
I know I was able to sync it with my address book which I keep
on Excel. It has a calendar mode and a calendar/schedule
mode which allows you to enter future appoinments. It also
allows you to enter birthdays and they will pop up in advance
to let you know that it is X days until such an event. I keep it
in my car under conditions of extreme heat and cold and when
I looked at it for the first time in a couple of years, it all worked.
The battery had not drained in that period of time. It is about 3
by 5 and a half inch thick and the screen is about 2 by 2 and is
very clear for my old eyes. It is a lot smarter than I am so I have
not been using it very much. :^) I keep it in the car so if we
travel, I am able to look up addresses and phone numbers for
friends that might live where we happen to be.

It uses a stylus and has modes for spanish translation, time
zones around the world, calculator, spell checker, memo,
and expense recording. I may have missed some functions.

Good luck in your search!!!!!!

Don
