Well I am signed up for Windows Update, have been for quite awhile.
The Software Removal Tool never was in the last update.

  is in my most recent windows update history.

  yeah, it's the same thing.

  Microsoft will release an updated version of this tool on 
  the second Tuesday of each month. New versions will be made 
  available through this web page, Windows Update, and the 
  Malicious Software Removal Tool Web site on Microsoft.com.

  No, this is not included in Microsoft Updates.
  You have to download it yourself.

    This is the tool that MSoft puts in windows updates
    once/month, isn't it? I'm pretty sure it is.

    do you know how we access the one that gets installed

    the updates?
