    My guess (based on something I somewhat recall reading a while back) 
would be that two passes are required to ensure that there are no errors in 
the conversion.

    You didn't include any specs for your computer, so it's difficult to 
determine exactly what's making it take so long.  Still, the fact that it is

taking so long to perform those passes indicates that your system could 
probably benefit from an upgrade or two.  Specifically, audio and video 
renders prefer lots of RAM and a fast CPU.  If your PC doesn't meet these 
two requirements, there's little you can do to speed up the process other 
than to try using a different program that will allow you to skip one of the

passes.  Of course, you'll then have to deal with whatever corruption 
escapes detection on the first and only pass made by that program.

    If, on the other hand, you already have a fast machine with boatloads of

RAM, let us know and we'll see about another approach.          :O)
