HB,

do you know what the modem is then? If so you can go to the manufactures
web site and get the latest driver for the modem. Than all you do is
download it, unpack it is the file is zipped up etc. Then you go to my
computer, right click on it and go to properties. Next go to hardware and
then device manager. Now find your modem, and double click it so it opens.
Now you just go to update driver, and tell it you have the driver stored in
the place you put it, and off it will go. That should then install the
driver for you.

If you wish to role back the driver now, you can do so by doing the same as
above, but clicking on the driver tab, you can then roll back the driver for
that item.

Hope that helps,

Trevnal

Hello all,
I bought a laptop a year ago, and have been having a problem with it
(while online) rebooting for some unknown reason. On reboot, the "send
report"
screen says the problem is most likely due to needing a driver update to the
modem.
I've done a bunch of research on how to update it. This weekend I
finally worked up the courage to try it, and I believe I messed it up
somehow.
I'm thinking I should be able to "restore" to undo the update. But I'm
unsure if this is the best way, or even how to restore.
So, request guidance on what I should do now. Running XP Home.
Thanks,

HB
