-=PCTechTalk=- How to Restore?

Hello all,
I bought a laptop a year ago, and have been having a problem with it
(while online) rebooting for some unknown reason. On reboot, the "send report"
screen says the problem is most likely due to needing a driver update to the
modem.
I've done a bunch of research on how to update it. This weekend I
finally worked up the courage to try it, and I believe I messed it up somehow.
I'm thinking I should be able to "restore" to undo the update. But I'm
unsure if this is the best way, or even how to restore.
So, request guidance on what I should do now. Running XP Home.
Thanks,
HB
